We Three

January 5, 2013

Hand in hand we three but me

Walked the sand along the sea

Side by side were we united

One we were except not quite

Sun brought low before the night

Our hearts warmed though mine was blighted

In the grass we lay us down

Sand still warm our passion found

Love sought wings ere mine alighted

Off we drift to rest and dreams

O’er the dunes and lesser things

Stars white flame had mine ignited

Arm outreached I trace your face

Waves rush in to take your place

Breath to words to lips requited

Hand in hand we three but me

Walked to touch eternity

Fade from sight never united
