Dancing Pecs and Abs That Astound – Detour Through Crazy Town
I admit it. Today I drove through crazy town. Had a great workout. Biceps, back, and shoulders. Wanted to shake it up a bit so I added three sets of cable bicep curls with a twist at the top. Found the exercise on youtube. I know. Provide the link or shut up. I will put in a future post because it hit the biceps like the curls, hammer curls, and burnouts had not done. Basically you are on the floor on your knees leaning back, arm extended up to the cable. You curl beyond your shoulder, twisting your hand to the outside during the movement. So tonight I jumped on youtube again searching for some different approaches for tomorrow’s chest and tricep workout.
Instead I was detoured through crazy town. Found a video by a guy with two great bodyweight videos for back. He also devoted time to posing and ripping through shirts. A lot of shirts. I get it. He has worked hard and wants people to take notice. I just haven’t seen that much rage since my last family reunion. Kudos to him for documenting shredding phases and bulking phases. However, seven videos dedicated to hulking through you shirt might be a bit much…. Then it was on to a guy with incredible muscle control. Not only do I want abs like that, his had moves I haven’t even seen on a dance floor. Amazing. I want to be able to do that. I dunno why. I just do. The same guy could make his pecs dance like an Irish line dancer. As impressive as heck. Crazy town…self indulgent, perhaps ….but …to be honest…seeing all that just motivated the hell out of me! I spent two minutes attempting to fire up my pecs in a controlled dance. Epic fail. Epic.
Bottom line? I wish I was at the gym right now pounding it. At first I chided myself because the time spent didn’t net me any new workout variations and let’s face it, watching some guy’s pecs dance on screen to Christmas music isn’t something you could easily explain to grandma but come on….it is pretty flipping cool.
And so my detour through crazy town has me fired up to hit the weights hard tomorrow. Who knows. Maybe in eight or so months you will see a video of my obliques tap dancing. Maybe these detours are good to challenge us.
