Workout Confession
This isn’t much of a post, really. More a confession. Reads like it should be scandalous. Sadly, not.
I worked out once last week. Uno. One. 1. Un. And my diet has been crap. Paleo lunch. Paleo Breakfast, then a wretched carb-fest for dinner. I need a hired goon to kick my arse and get me back on track.
In my downtime, I have tortured myself with research of workouts, transformation success stories, and the like. I can’t put my finger on what has derailed me. But, there it is. I’ve admitted it.
I am being treated for a vertigo presumably associated with a neck issue. So twice a week I see a chiropractor who beats the stuffing out of me, or so it feels the next day. And, oddly enough, it appears to be working.
So, where do I go from here? Time to get my arse in gear and get back on target.
I feel your pain, I haven’t been so good with my work-outs lately. And I need to be better in order to get rid of my crutches. I need someone to motivate me!
Hey Bro! Don’t beat yourself, You ate some carbs. So what. Just get back at it! It took me several attempts before I was able to eat Paleo. It’s hard to stop eating carbs. But once you do…watch out!
Thanks man.
Echo that – more support here! I ate fruit like a demon for the first 6 weeks, or so, of being Paleo. The grain-cravings increased my carb consumption fiercely! Fortunately, I was able to abstain the grains, and slowly my fruit consumption dropped down to more reasonable levels. But there was no “cold turkey” in terms of kicking the grain habit, AND lowering carbs consumption… I did one, and then the other. Sequentially.
As for the workouts: until Saturday, I was 8 days straight without a workout! I was so unmotivated, I only put together 3 posts last week! I think it was something in the air… Anyway, worry not: once Saturday hit, I was full tilt – did 3 days in a row of hard workouts (got in a great workout this morning before work!). So, if your body needs a bit of rest, give it some rest. Then get back on it with a renewed vigor!
Thanks man.
Remember, if you stick to your Paleo 80% of the time…your still way ahead of the game. Poor eating does lead to MORE poor eating. The cravings are very weird, once you step back into the world of American preocessed foods. I from time to time will grab a MONSTER drink. Poison. I feel like ass for the rest of the day.Same if I have bread or flour. Working out is the same…once you break the pattern or habit, it takes more effort to get back on track. Advice: Get a small foam ‘roller’, running stores usually have several. Use them between doctor visits. -Luke
